The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

The three days of renewal with Most Rev. Archabbot Lambert Reilly, OSB, before the Feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus. During the solemn Mass the Sisters renewed their vows.

Most Rev. Daniel Jenky, Bishop of Peoria, Father Schmitt and Father Meyer with the Sisters and resident of St. Joseph Nursing Home after the Holy Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lacon, on June 20.

Year for Priests

Pope Benedict XVI has declared a “Year for Priests” beginning with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 19, 2009. The year will conclude in Rome with an international gathering of priests with the Holy Father on June 19, 2010.

With the announcement of this Year for Priests, the Pope has declared St. John Vianney the Universal Patron of Priests on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of the Curé d’Ars.

Each of our Sisters has spiritually adopted a priest to pray for that he might always be faithful to his sacred calling.
